About Brahma Kumaris
Brahma Kumaris, officially known as 'Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya', is a worldwide spiritual movement dedicated to personal transformation and world renewal. Founded in 1937 in Hyderabad, Sindh (then part of undivided India) by Prajapita Brahma, the organization has spread to over 110 countries across 5 continents, impacting all sections of society.
As a women-led organization, Brahma Kumaris is committed to helping individuals transform themselves through understanding their true spiritual identity, which transcends material existence. The organization supports the cultivation of deep collective consciousness of peace and the individual dignity of each soul.
In 1950, the spiritual group relocated to Mount Abu in the beautiful Aravalli Ranges of Rajasthan, where it established its international headquarters. From there, the seed of spiritual knowledge grew gradually, spreading across India. In 1971, the spiritual knowledge and practice of Rajyog spread overseas with the first foreign center in London.
Working as an international NGO associated with the United Nations Department of Public Relations, Brahma Kumaris operates more than 5,600 centers in India and thousands more across 110+ countries worldwide. The organization is currently led by BK Mohini Didi, who continues to guide Brahma Kumaris with spiritual wisdom and unwavering commitment.
At its core, Brahma Kumaris teaches Rajyog meditation — a powerful practice for achieving mental clarity, emotional stability, and spiritual awakening. The organization believes that true transformation begins within the self, and through individual change, we can collectively transform the world.

Leadership & Global Presence
Brahma Kumaris has been blessed with exemplary leadership throughout its journey. The first Administrative Head was Mateshwari Jagdamba, fondly known as Mamma, followed by Rajyogini Dadi Prakashmani, Rajyogini Dadi Janki, Dadi Hridaymohini, and Dadi Ratanmohini Ji. The current Administrative Head is BK Mohini Didi, who continues to guide the organization with spiritual wisdom and unwavering commitment.
