When children feel angry, upset, or overwhelmed, this gentle meditation helps them calm their mind and return to peace.

Om Shanti. Meditation on overcoming anger.

Hello little angel. Let’s sit comfortably with your back straight. Take one slow, happy breath in and gently breathe out. That feels nice, doesn’t it?

Now, imagine there is a tiny light shining right in the center of your forehead, like a little star. That light is you. You are bright, beautiful star.

Sometimes, when someone takes your toy, says something mean to you, or doesn’t listen to you, that little star inside feels hot like a fireball. That is anger. But now, you are going to learn a magical way to cool it down. Take another deep breath in, and as you breathe out, imagine blowing gently on that fire. Slowly, as you blow out, it starts to cool and cool down, until it turns into a soft golden glow again.

Now say this inside your heart: “I am a peaceful star. I am cool and calm. I shine with peace.”

Can you see your golden light getting brighter and brighter? It’s glowing so beautifully.

Now look above yourself. You can feel a bright, shining, beautiful star right above you in the sky. So bright, so loving. That is God, the Supreme Soul, the ocean of peace. Now repeat all these sentences that you here.

From that big star, soft light is coming down to me. Just feel it, experience it, and enjoy it. Feel it touching my mind, filling me with peace and love. Say to yourself: “I feel safe. I feel loved. I feel calm.”

Now whisper to yourself: When I feel angry, I can stop, take a deep breath, and remember I am a peaceful star.

You smile softly. Your heart feels lighter again. You are shining with love, spreading peace to everyone around you. You feel calm. You are kind, and you are peaceful.

Om Shanti.

This meditation gently helps children recognize anger without fear and learn a simple, loving way to calm themselves. By using breath, imagination, and positive affirmations, children begin to feel safe, understood, and emotionally balanced.

With regular practice, children develop self-control, kindness, and inner strength. They learn that even when anger arises, they can pause, breathe, and return to their peaceful nature, feeling lighter, happier, and more confident from within.

The more consistently this is practiced, the more it nurtures a natural cycle of emotional hygiene — releasing the old, receiving the new — making each day a true fresh start.

Brahma Kumaris has Rajyoga Meditation Centers across the globe. These centers are peaceful and welcoming spaces where you can learn and practice Rajyoga meditation in person. Most cities have at least one center, and larger cities often have several located nearby.
