Before sleeping, when you feel the need to pause life’s ‘performance’ and reconnect with your inner peace and spiritual identity.

Just like we turn off a computer by going through various steps, in the same way, when we go to sleep at night it’s important to allow the mind to turn off. This helps us to sleep peacefully and restfully. If I learn how to put the mind to sleep properly, then the next morning truly becomes a new morning and a new day. The last thoughts at night have a connection with the quality of the morning. Life is a complete 24-hour cycle everyday— what I do during the day has an impact upon the thoughts and dreams at night.

So if I pay attention to starting the day well, and also ending the day well, it allows the mind to be free from unnecessary thoughts and allows the dreams to be peaceful and relaxed. So let us understand how to put the mind to sleep at night and how to start the day fresh every morning. As the day draws to a close, i wish the day behind me.

For the few minutes before going to sleep, I allow the mind to wind down — to be silent and to let go of the thoughts and events that I witnessed during the day. Before going to sleep, let me talk to myself; let me listen to myself in silence. I remind myself that life is a theater, and today's theater is closed, whatever happened today — whether something bad happened, or I did something great, or I made a mistake, whether I was criticized or praised — all of that is now past.

The curtain has been drawn on the performance of today’s theater of life. And so with these thoughts, I allow the mind to be emptied of the scenes and scenarios of the day. I allow the mind to be light and free. I just remind myself:

I, the spiritual being.

I, the soul. My eternal nature is peace and silence, and that is all that matters.

The drama changes every day, but my peace is what is with me always. I choose to multiply the events of the day by zero. I release all thoughts of the day and allow the mind to experience deep and restful sleep. And when the mind is at rest, it also allows the body to rest peacefully and to be recharged for the next day.

So when I awaken the next morning, my mind will feel refreshed. I will awaken first by connecting and engaging with my own self. I awaken with the thought: I am peace. I, the soul, am a unique and individual performer in the great drama — the great theatre of life.

I choose the state of mind I wish to have first thing in the morning. Then I look at life, at my responsibilities of the day. When I care for the mind in this way — every night and every morning — it helps the day to go well. And so let me choose to make every day peaceful, positive, and happy by charging the battery of the soul first thing in the morning, by visiting my inner peace and inner power in a few moments of silent reflection.

I choose to engage with myself first… and then with others, with my responsibilities, and with life.

This meditation offers a conscious and soulful transition between the busyness of the day and the stillness of night. Just like properly shutting down a computer prevents errors, learning to switch off the mind in a gentle, structured way ensures deeper, more restful sleep. The technique helps in detaching from the mental clutter of daily life — achievements, criticisms, events — and cultivates a sense of closure and peace before sleep.

By ending the day with elevated thoughts and spiritual affirmations, you reprogram the subconscious to rest in silence, which enhances the quality of dreams and morning clarity. Upon waking, the mind feels calm, centered, and more in tune with the self. This practice strengthens emotional resilience, improves focus, and aligns you with your inner power, enabling you to begin the new day not in reaction, but in soulful intention.

The more consistently this is practiced, the more it nurtures a natural cycle of emotional hygiene — releasing the old, receiving the new — making each day a true fresh start.
